A $34.4 million settlement has been reached in a class action antitrust lawsuit with Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. ("DFA") and Select Milk Producers, Inc. ("Select"). The lawsuit alleges that the defendants conspired to suppress competition and the prices paid to Southwestern dairy farmers for the Grade A milk they produced, in violation of federal law. The defendants deny any wrongdoing, and the Court has not decided in favor of either party. The settlement resolves claims for dairy farmers who produced and sold Grade A milk in the designated Southwest Area region between January 1, 2015, and June 30, 2025.
The settlement class includes all dairy farmers, whether individuals or entities, who produced Grade A milk and sold it independently or through an agent to Defendants, DFA and Select, within the DFA Southwest Area region between January 1, 2015, and June 30, 2025.
